What the heck is that?! You might be asking yourself. Well that's Pucchoco Gummy - Banana Gummy w/Chocolate!

(Ok, so let's get it out of the way, the darn thing looks like a buttplug)

Just look at those happy banana faces! Who could resist such a cute but yet mildly perverted candy? Not me. Upon unwrapping it got even more bizarre because the top of the container looked like a little yellow baseball cap so it no longer resembled a buttplug but instead looked like a little faceless person. So odd.

The gummy pieces were little rounded triangles while the chocolate was in little balls. I should have taken a shot with them next to something for a size comparison but I didn't. Oops.

The gummys were soft and pale yellow and were lightly dusted with, I think, corn starch or something similar. They weren't sticky so I'm not sure why the corn starch was there.

Since the packaging didn't have any English, I couldn't confirm if the chocolate pieces were indeed chocolate or mocklate. They tasted pretty much like extra milky (watered down) chocolate with a very smooth texture.

The gummy and chocolate were fine on their own but when eaten together, that's when it was best. The banana flavoring of the gummy was mild on it's on but when paired with the chocolate it really tasted like a ripe banana!

The texture of the the gummy and chocolate together was kind of gross and the gummy would get stuck in my teeth and then I'd get chocolate all over my finger when I tried to dig out the gummy. But I digress.

This was a pretty yummy treat and I have to say the packaging alone made me giggle. I almost didn't throw it away because I felt bad for letting such a funny little thing go to waste. Then I realized that I really shouldn't keep buttplugs lying around.

I can't believe it's been a MONTH since I've posted anything! How does time get away from us so fast?

Anyway, another item from my massive J-List order is Glico Pachi-Pero otherwise known as Pop Rocks in Chocolate.

Now, Pop Rocks on their own are an awesome candy and anyone who was a kid in the 80's (or was just eating candy in the 80's) heard the urban legend about drinking Coke and eating Pop rocks at the same time.

Combining Pop Rocks and chocolate is a genius idea and I was totally smitten with the picture of the crazy bomb guy on the package.

It's essentially a chocolate lollipop, though the stick the candy is on almost looks like a bubble wand, too bad I didn't have normal bubbles in the house to test it out, just cat nip bubbles. Gross.

The chocolate was a nice milky color and you can see how well the crazy bomb guy from the packaging is represented on it.

The bottom half of the candy was white (white chocolate? possibly, though I couldn't confirm) with subtle flecks of color from the Pop Rocks shining through.

I took a pretty large first bite to make sure I got plenty of Pop Rocks in with the chocolate. It was really good! I could taste a generic fruity flavor from the Pop Rocks and the chocolate was nice and smooth.

The best part of course was letting the mixture sit on my tongue and explode!

(Biting down on the Pop Rocks makes them explode too but not nearly as much fun as sitting there with your mouth hanging open and letting people you live with listen to your mouth crackle).

I felt that the candy could have been bigger, the enjoyment was over far too quickly and it made me wish I had bought more than one. And sadly, J-List appears to be out of stock. Something to keep an eye out for the next time I'm in a store that sells Japanese candies!

Pretty cool.

I couldn't get over how real this stuff looked! For the bacon lover or even the bacon hater (but honestly, those people should just be force fed bacon until they realize how perfect of a food it is), this is really too perfect of a gift.

I was told this was purchased at Hot Topic but you can also get it online from Archie McPhee, where they proclaim "pickles yodel and lederhosen run free!"

Russell Stover is apparently trying to update and revamp their image with the addition of their Internationale line of chocolates. It includes flavors like French Cafe Vanilla Creme, Swiss Lodge Mocha Creme, Bavarian Creme Brulee (hmm, lots of creme) and this bar, German Black Forest Truffle.

I like Black Forest cake. The combo of chocolate and cherries is scrumptious, naturally it does seem like a good idea to take that flavor and make a chocolate bar out of it.

In theory.

At first glance, this is a really nice looking product. Very simple and elegant box rather than your standard paper wrapped chocolate bar. Pictures of an impressive looking (supposedly German) castle and a lovely piece of Black Forest cake.

Once opened, the bar is encased in a pretty gold wrapper with Russell Stover embossed all over (it didn't show up great in the photos sadly).

The bar itself is dark, slick and shiny It's conveniently pre-scored into perfect little squares, again with Russell Stover emblazoned on each piece. It smells warm and chocolately, with the faintest bit of cherry in the background.

Come on, get to the good part, how did it taste?!

Well, that's the thing. It wasn't all that good. The bar was actually made up of two different kinds of chocolate, dark and milk. The top layer was dark chocolate and the bottom was milk, however, the two chocolates did not live in harmony. When I bit into it, the two layers practically separated from each other. Astonishingly, there was hardly any cherry flavor to be found! If I let the chocolate just sit in my mouth for a while, I could almost taste a mellow cherry like flavor but it was nothing like the cherry tartness I I was hoping for based on the numerous pieces of Black Forest Cake I've eaten over the years.


In short (too late for that!) it was a very unremarkable piece of chocolate. I would certainly never buy it again for myself and would only buy it for someone else if I was really pressed for time on getting a last minute gift and the only shopping option was Walgreens.

I spotted this at Long's Drugs and was immediately puzzled. Well, it looks like Cadbury mini eggs but why the is bag a different shade of purple? And it says Royal Dark, I was intrigued to say the least.

I have recently grown quite fond of dark chocolate. It seems more sophisticated than it's milky brother and by eating it I feel more refined, adult and dark chocolate is good for you, so there! Neener neener neener.

I was worried when I opened the bag because I could faintly smell peanuts. Gross. I hate peanuts, hate them so much that the mere smell of them makes me feel a little like hurling. I know that most chocolate products are processed on machines that also handle peanut products (I usually avoid M&Ms because they very often smell and taste like peanuts) which is a darn shame.

I pressed on and was delighted with the color scheme of these guys. Instead of the usual soft pastel pink, blue, yellow and white there instead jewel tones! Burgandy, deep purple, golden dark yellow and a vibrant royal blue. No speckles on these either, just solid, luscious color.

They're slightly dusty and have the same smooth outer candy shell as the original mini eggs. I like to crunch down on the shell and have it mix with the chocolate. This chocolate was not as good as I had hoped. It was nice and smooth, melted quickly but the taste was just off somehow. Definitely not sweet like the original mini eggs but not quite mellow enough to be truly dark chocolate. After a few handfuls though, the taste seemed to improve and were pretty good. And they do look lovely in my black candy dish. I would have to say though, that the original mini eggs are far superior!

All of the flavors were essentially bubblegum. Because each piece was so small, in order to blow a respective bubble I needed to put about 3 of them in my mouth at once (hey, get your mind out of the gutter!) and that was fun b/c then I got to load the Clucker up and watch him poop them out! This would be an awesome thing to put in a kid's Easter basket or give to a twisted person like me, candy itself is unremarkable but the enjoyment factor is way high.
